Starting off the album with a quick joke song, because why not? This was a failed attempt at a Box Car Racer-like post-hardcore/emo track with a long intro starting with piano and building up to other instruments. I didn't know where to go from what I had and decided to scrap it, but since there was limited time to make the songs for FAWM, and being one to not waste work, I decided to turn it into a joke song, and now it opens the album, oh god. Also recording the vocals for this song was the first time I got to scream in a long time, because between my first and 2nd album, I moved, and didn't have an adequate area to record, plus if I was screaming my lungs out, people would hear... but then I found a good place to record, so I finally got to scream again! And of course I had to scream "why can't I stop masturbating?" several times to get the take right. I wouldn't have it any other way.
Here's my original commentary on this during FAWM:
This was actually the first song I started working on for FAWM but I scrapped it because it just didn't know where to go with it and what I had wasn't very good. I then realized that isn't really in the spirit of FAWM, and after listening to it again I decided it wasn't so bad, so I decided to record some vocals for it and call it finished.
This didn't start out as a joke song, but now it is.
Sorry.
lyrics
Some days I just feally wanna
Go and take a nap
So I go and lay down and I,
Well, instead I fapped.
So now I just keep on
Continuing with my self hating.
I won't lie, I'm not fine,
Why can't I stop masturbating?!
