I released this one as a single 'cause it's pretty good.
Here's the original commentary I wrote on this during FAWM:
The songwriting process for this one was a bit of a rollercoaster. I started out wanting to make a happy, synthy pop-punk song, but I didn't listen to any similar songs beforehand so I went in blind and it just kinda didn't turn out how I intended. I started out with the bass and then found a synth I thought sounded pretty and cool but then I decided to have a slow chorus, because it's different, and then it just sounded dark. So here's my happy song that now sounds dark, so I decided to roll with it and used that as inspiration for the lyrics. The song was supposed to sound happy, but it doesn't, but it's definitely still a happy song. Definitely.
I'm always pretty open about how I'm feeling, so the lyrics are more nonsensical than anything in relation to me, but maybe the denial is so obvious that it still works, I don't know. There's also a few references to some stuff, but that's kinda boring.

Because I'm not happy you idiot. No, not you, the other guy. Yeah, me. I'm fine though, really. I swear. At least, I'm not as bad as I may make it out to be. So yeah.
